The question: is the Jaguar F-Type the best looking new car for 2013? I work at a Jaguar and Land Rover Dealership; so my opinion is ultimately biased. The answer, if you ask me, is YES.
There were a lot of new lookers this year. Some of the ones that top my list were: Porsche Cayman/Boxter, Chevy Corvette, F12berlinetta, Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S, MB CLA, and Ford's Fusion.
The price range for these cars is from the low 20's to the mid 300's. The cars are all lookers. However bad angles can be found on all of them, except the Jag. The MB and Ford are automatically out because they have 4-doors. 4-door cars can look beautiful, but when was the last time you saw one on a 12 year old's wall? They just don't grab you like or look as good as a coupe/convertible. The Corvette has just a few too many hard lines. I'm unsure of my feelings on the rear of the FR-S/BRZ; where the trunk and bumper meet-up doesn't look quite right. I love the more newly sculpted side, and more aggressive front end of the Porsche, but side from the center exhaust the rear end still looks a bit like design vomit. The rear design came out fast, at once, and ends the car's lines too abruptly. Ferraris are always beautiful, if not for the body then definitely for the badge. I have to say the F12 looks great from all vantages, except one, the low and head on angle. It looks like a grinning toothless jack-o-lantern.
I know I am going to get some slack for what I have said. What do you think? To sway you, here are some shots of the F-Type I took when I had a V8-S this weekend. Yup. Saw one in all black on my way home the other day and even from the very corner of my eye it caught my attention immediately.

Easily one of the most beautiful cars ever IMO. Particularly the coupe

I think Jag is in the middle of a resurgence. Now all they need to do is head back to Le Mans with another D-Type(esc) car.

Yes, yes it is, and it's only surpassed by it's coupe sibling. Honestly I'd go so far to say it's one of the best looking cars to come out in a while.

Yes. If only because the Aston Martin Zagato V12 was technically introduced in 2012.
Now, whether it was a model year 2013 or not, I am uncertain. In which case I may be in a minority who will argue based on a technicality and a weird obsession with a very specific vehicle.

It's good looking, but nowhere in the same league. Or galaxy.

It's the best looking car since the...um....
I can't think of a car that's better looking. Maybe the E-Type.

While I absolutely loathe Marek Reichmann (may he rot in industrial design hell) for the fish mouth grille on the Rapide S, as well as the dumbass spoiler and recycled dildo skin interior of the new Vanquish, I will admit that I like restrained update he made to the base DB9. It does, I think, edge out the F-type. If only he'd stopped there.

I love the look of the F-type coupe, but I hate the convertible. In fact, I've never seen a convertible that I legitimately like the look of.

I'm having a really hard time coming up with an alternative. I do really like the C7 from some angles, especially with an all black grille like the Z06.

haha. Your interior description is priceless. The humps on the top cover look great on that car. Can we just call them attractive 1st cousins and say we'd take either?

Coupes are better looking, I agree. However, when the weather is right nothing beats a top down cruise.

It definitely looks newer, but the update adds a chin and love handles that I don't like. Aerodynamics be damned. The original DB9 is ever so perfect...

I miss her. We recently sold this car. I took her all the way from 24 miles to 146... what a great 120 they were (burned 1/2 tank...hooning just a bit)

Yeah, that was another issue I had with Reichmann. I can live with the chin thing, but those love handles are a little ridiculous. Seriously, I fear for the next Vantage.

Obviously those chins and love handles will naturally try to escape the body.

I prefer the proportions on the F-Type's shorter wheelbase.
And that rear roofline. Hnng.

Agreed.
I don't hate the convertible, but now that the coupe is out, it's really hard to like the convertible anymore.
The convertible was definitely one of the better looking looking new cars - which says
a lot
since it is a convertible - but a coupe version of virtually any convertible will look better to me.
I can like the Miata because Mazda's dumb and only made a convertible, but even the removable hardtop (or PRHT) is nicer than a soft-top. If Mazda made a proper Miata coupe (see something like Autokonexion's fastback *drool*), I would have never even thought about getting a soft-top Miata.
